A one-off live performance of Aftertime, the debut album from Roly Porter (Vex’d) featuring Cynthia Millar on Ondes Martenot. Filmed at The Britten Studio, Snape Maltings as part of Faster Than Sound, 29/10/11.
Visuals conjured live by Rod Maclachlan using cameras focused on plants, smoke, rotating coal along with sound reactive dust shaker and dark water contraptions. Video feedback created using video mixers.

Fall Back

A one-off live performance of Fall Back, featuring Cynthia Millar on Ondes Martenot. Filmed at The Britten Studio, Snape Maltings as part of Faster Than Sound, 29/10/11.
Images were created using the archaic analogue episcopic projection technique; bright lights reflect off objects and this light is focused by a large lens creating epic, hypnotic moving images of exquisite detail. Items projected included coal, plastic bags and a car headlight. A handmade oil-wheel made using sump engine oil was also used.
