City Of Bristol Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) revealed a new concert presentation of Beethoven’s Eroica and Strauss’ Don Quixote . Conceived by artistic director Tom Morris and conductor Kazuki, in collaboration with the orchestra, projection artist, Rod Maclachlan and lighting designer Zaynep Kepekli, the performance aimed to allow the audience to see the structure of the music as it unfolds.

Even more pleasing and effective was the narration supported by Gustav Dore illustrations and pre-recorded live video that accompanied the performance of Richard Strauss’s tone poem Don Quixote, guiding the audience through the adventures of a mad knight and his squire as in the Cervantes novel.
